Lets Talk About It: Have you ever felt stuck? Like no matter which direction you are headed, there is nothing good waiting? The truth is, God always makes a way out of darkness for us. His Word is a light unto our path. So, if we are following God, and we are studying His Word, we can rest assured He will lead us away from danger.

I'm convinced we won't know all the ways in which God protected us until we get to heaven, however, I know that there has been at least one time that He's led me away from danger. Interestingly enough, it didn't happen how most would expect. At the age of 21, I got a DUI. What cost me tens of thousands of dollars and my ability to drive for a year, turned out to be what I needed to save my life.

I was a binge drinker and alcoholic. I needed something drastic done because I didn't have the willpower to stop on my own. So, God made a way. Did it look picturesque and beautiful? Well, that depends on the lens you use to look at the situation. I choose to see it as part of my salvation story.

During that time, most of my friends deserted me. I went from having friends to having no one. But Jesus was there, patiently teaching me how I had been hiding and drowning my pain in a bottle. I'm glad He loved me enough to teach me that lesson. All these years later and I'm still sober. But this was only because God is my rock. I depend on Him for everything and I believe Him when He promises protection because I know I'd be dead if not for God. - Crystal
