Daily Devotional - May 9, 2021

🧡 Let's Talk About It: I've come to learn in my walking with Christ that there are two reactions people have to you as you are intimate with Him. They are either attracted to the anointing or repulsed by the stench of death (as in dying to oneself).

I used to be afraid that all my deepest and darkest secrets would be revealed if I stepped into the light, but the truth is, that's where Jesus cleansed me and freed me from guilt and shame, especially the shame and guilt I had carried for so long I didn't even know I still held it.

It's in the light that we see who we really are. It's there we realize we are but filthy rags. But it's also there where we find out what God has deposited in us that only we have. It is there where our purpose is revealed.

In the light, there is no darkness. It's just you and God, and this, my friend, is where He does the deep (heart) work. It's in the light we can examine our own motives, intentions, goals, etc. and let Him examine us and show us that which our flesh fights to keep us from learning.

It's not always easy walking with Jesus. Some people will love you for it. Others will hate you for it. Yet others will envy you for it. And still others will doubt your sincerity. The good news is, none of that matters when you step into the light.

So, friend, I want to encourage you today to step into the light. There is no condemnation in Christ. No, there is pure love, mercy, grace, patience, humility, understanding,  and a passion to see you fulfill your purpose more than you can even fathom. And when you start to doubt, remember, the darkness can't survive the fire in His eyes. Step into the light!

💚 Prayer: My God, I am humbled that You choose me as a vessel of Your glory. Lord, help me to shine Your light and attract others to the glorious life that is intimacy with You. Father, I thank You for my gifting and my purpose. As You conform me into the image of Your Son, God, I thank you for correcting me with gentleness and understanding rather than contempt and anger. Jesus, thank You for showing me who I am in You, and thank You for never leaving me. May Your will be done, Abba. I love You Jesus, and in Your name I pray, amen.
