❤ Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Lose Your Soul" by TobyMac. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💛 Daily Verse: No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
☆ Micah 6:8 NLT
💚 Let's Talk About It: Humility is something lacking in today's society. The truth is, it doesn't take much reading of the Old Testament to see pride has plagued humanity since the beginning.
After all, it is what caused the fall. Didn't the enemy entice Adam & Eve with the thought of being "like" God?
So, what do we as believers do in a world filled with self promotion in which we've created idols of ourselves?
Firstly, we must evaluate ourselves in reference to how we view ourselves? Do we hold all the power or does God? Our we in control of our own lives, or is He?
If your answer to these questions doesn't not keep God in His position of authority, then you may need to ask for humility and be willing to humble yourself before Him.
Because the truth is, He is in control of everything. He is sovereign, and transcendent and if you think your power and authority is of your own making, well friend, I've got news for you, it's not.
I want to challenge you today to humble yourself before the Lord. Ask Him to search your heart, and be willing to face it head on when He shows you.
💙 Prayer: Thank You God, for Your infinite mercy and grace. Thank You for allowing me the opportunity to come before You in humility. Lord, I ask that You would search my heart and help me to let go of anything that is not of You. I ask that You show me these things in Jesus name so that I may grow to be more like Jesus and walk in His ways. Holy Spirit, I pray that You would convict me if I begin to look back or slip into my old ways. Lord, I don't want to gain the world, but lose my soul. I honor You God and thank You for what You are doing in my life. Give me the strength I need to continue pressing forward in humility so that I may fulfill my calling. I love You, Jesus, and in Your mighty name I pray, amen.
