๐ Worship:ย If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Fires" by Jordan St. Cyr. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!ย
๐ Daily Verse: As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between the two men, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven.
โ 2 Kings 2:11 NLT
๐งก Let's Talk About It: Can you imagine walking with a friend and then suddenly a chariot of fire appears in a whirlwind and your friend is lifted off into heaven?
For many of us, this sounds like something out of a fairytale, however, this is really what happened to one of the greatest men of God to ever live (besides Jesus, of course). Elijah was known as a man of God but he was also known as a prophet, or seer.
This is the same prophet that called down fire on a water soaked altar and killed Jezebel's false prophets. The work He did for the Lord was monumental. Many people believed in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob based on what he did with the prophets of Baal & Asherah (1 Kings 18).
I find ironic then that he would be caught up and raptured in a chariot of fire. Recently, as I was brought back to this story again, I thought of who would be directing the chariot.
More than likely it was Jesus. Think of that, Lord of all, on a chariot of fire coming down to rapture us. The thought alone is enough to make me break out in worship.
Some believe that before the final judgment and wrath of God comes to pass the church will be raptured. These beliefs stem not only from the rapture of Elijah, but Enoch as well. Enoch was the first man raptured in the Bible.
With so many different end time interpretations, I have no desire to debate about the church being raptured, but what I always have time for is to give God praise, and in the middle of some dark and desperate places Christ has shown up on a chariot of fire and rescued me BIG TIME.
If He's done the same for you, then let me get an AMEN! ๐๐ป
๐ Prayer: Oh my God, the God of heaven and earth, thank You for saving me. Thank You for sending Your Son down to earth so that He could die for my sins. Thank You Jesus for rescuing me from myself. Lord, You are good and I am so grateful to be called a child of God. Lord, help me to remember, in the midst of the busy days, that You have everything under control. Nothing passes by us that You didn't know about first. Thank You for loving me and teaching me how to love others around me. Help me to be a beacon of hope and light in a dark world. I love You God and give You all the praise, honor, and glory forevermore. May Your will be done. In Jesus' mighty name I pray, amen.
