💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Witness" by Jordan Feliz. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💜 Daily Verse: Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own. Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.
☆ John 7:17-18 NLT
💙 Let's Talk About It: Yesterday I was speaking with my husband about how we can discern those who are living by this scripture and those who aren't based on whether or not they give God the credit. See, we can't both get the credit.
Either God is at work in our lives through our obedience or He isn't, and the only way for others to know is determined by our testimony.
For the longest time, I would say "something told me to (fill in the blank)." Once I began walking with God I realized that something was the Holy Spirit. Now, I don't say, "something told me" but rather "the Holy Spirit told me". When we know better, we do better, right?
Likewise, now that I know EVERYTHING is a gift from God, I do my best with what I've been given to use those gifts to bring God glory, and when man wants to give me accolades, I remember that it isn't me they see, but the Spirit of God within me, and so He gets the credit.
How many of us steal God's glory because we don't recognize it ourselves? How many of us are so concerned with our works that we tend to share what we do for God rather than what He does for us?
We aren't called to share our gospel, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ; THAT is the Great Commission.
💚 Prayer: Dear God, thank You for this day and the present that is the present. Lord, I thank You for the gifts You've given me to use for Your glory. There is no greater God because there are no other gods. You alone reign! Father, I pray that You would show me and convict me when and if I attempt to steal Your glory, whether knowingly or unknowingly. I understand that Your Gospel, Jesus, is what I am to share, not my own works. I thank You that you teach me and continue to guide me. Help me to be Your hands and feet. I love You Lord, and in Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
