✝️ Daily Devotional - May 22, 2021

💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Trust And Obey" by Big Daddy Weave. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!

💚 Daily Verse: Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given —and you will receive even more.  To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”
☆ Mark 4:24‭-‬25 NLT

🧡 Let's Talk About It: Did you catch that? Those who choose to disregard what they are told, lose the knowledge they've been given.

Paul talks about this as well in Ephesians 4:18.

God doesn't always keep offering the door of salvation. Those who do not accept may not be afforded another opportunity.

I don't bring this up to scare any of you that have not yet come to salvation, but I will say that the Bible is clear that if you are not willing to walk in obedience, God will not allow you deeper knowledge of Him or His ways.

I believe this is why many people do not mature in their walk. Obedience is key with God. He prefers it over sacrifice.

How can you exercise more obedience in your life? In what area is God currently asking you to make a change?

💜 Prayer: Father, I thank You that You called me out of the darkness and into Your light. Father, obedience isn't always easy. Sometimes I fight my flesh and sometimes I succumb to my desires. Lord, You know my struggles, yet You do not give up on me. This gives me hope that one day, when You ask, and no matter what You ask, my response will be "yes, my Lord." You are so faithful, even when I stumble, You are quick to offer me a hand up. Thank You for Your patience, faithfulness and goodness. I love You Jesus and in Your precious name I pray, amen.
