🧡 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Love Broke Thru" by TobyMac. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💛 Daily Verse: I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
☆ 2 John 1:5-6 NLT
💜 Let's Talk About It: Let's face it, we don't always love each other as we should as Christians. If we did, maybe there would be more unity in the body.
Maybe if we loved like Jesus, every church would be busting out of the doors each Sunday.
Many times we confuse what love is because in our culture the word "love" is used to describe things we enjoy doing, foods we enjoy eating, places we enjoying going to, etc.
But the truth is, before we can walk in love, we must walk in truth, and the only way to walk in truth, is to know the truth; and the only way to know the truth is to read the Bible and absorb into our spirit the Word of Truth.
Walking in love takes discipline. It means seeing past the flesh of the individual and looking at that person with a Kingdom perspective in mind.
Compassion, respect, and integrity are lacking in many believers hearts and this is a clear indication love has been traded for something else - mammon, pride, addictions, adultery (the list can go on and on).
Why do you think you struggle to walk in love? What area could you do a better job at loving others in?
If you struggle to love, I highly encourage you to read the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. We can't do better if we don't know better. Take the time to give yourself additional training and education concerning love. And remember friend, there is no condemnation in Christ.
💙 Prayer: Father God, I thank You for Your love. I know that I couldn't love others if You didn't first love me, Jesus. God, You are so good and I am blessed to be called daughter (or son). Thank you for Your protection, provision, and the precious gift of Salvation. Thank You Holy Spirit for guiding me in both the big decisions and the small ones. Lord, there is none like You! I pray God, that You would open my heart to love people in ways I haven't thought of before and to serve them as You would, Jesus. I love You Lord, and give you all the praise forever. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
