☆ Psalms 17:15 HCSB

💜 Let's Talk About It: Are you satisfied with God's presence?

For many of us, this can be a loaded question. What Christian isn't satisfied with the presence of God, right?

Well, I believe that all of us struggle here at some point or another. For instance, when you have free time, are you seeking God, or are you getting lost in a fictional world created by television, social media, video games, etc.? There is nothing wrong with these things, unless of course, we are putting them before God.

For instance, do you get up and read the Word or is the news the first thing you watch?

I can only speak on this because I struggled with seeking God in the beginning of my walk with Him, but as I crucified my flesh through a fast from ALL electronics, God in His faithfulness met me there. He taught me how to put Him first and He even went as far as waking me up earlier each day so that I could start my day with Him.

He didn't force me into it. Always the gentleman, He simply waited for me to desire to put Him first, then He gave me the means to make it happen.

It's not always simple. When you're a single mom (as I was), there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. When you own your own company, many families depend on you to have it together so that you can coordinate their schedules and ensure everyone receives a paycheck.

My point is this, just because it's possible doesn't necessarily mean it is easy. However, Jesus can ease your burden. It is, after all, Him who promises us rest. But in order to receive, we have to sit still long enough to seek Him, speak with Him, and listen to Him (by spending time in the Word).

So, I ask again, friend...are you satisfied with God's presence or are you still looking to the world to do only what God's presence can?

💙 Prayer: Father God, I am so grateful for You. Your presence is more than enough for me, Lord. I thank You for Your unending faithfulness. God, there is no one like You. You reign supreme and I praise Your Holy name. If not for You, I would still be lost, but You taught me how to put You first and helped me learn how important it is to seek Your presence. Thank You, God for my righteousness through the blood of Jesus. Your plans are wonderful and I will continue to trust You. Lord Jesus, help me to find more time to spend with You. Help me to continue to seek Your presence first and foremost. I pray, Father, that Your will be done. I love You, Jesus, and in Your mighty name I pray, amen.
