🧡 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "I Will Follow" by Chris Tomlin. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💛 Daily Verse: For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.
☆ Romans 14:17-18 NLT
❤ Let's Talk About It: We can't earn our way into heaven. Living a "good" life and being a "good" person is not about what we eat or drink, or even do. We aren't saved because we take communion. We are saved by the blood of Jesus and His atoning sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary.
So, while some people don't eat meat, and others do, it shouldn't be a point of contention between believers. Neither should we worry about our external circumstances in our life. Rather, we should be focused on what happens within us through the Spirit.
The Kingdom of God isn't dependant on what food you eat but the relationships you build. I would take a hotdog or hamburger over a steak if it meant my marriage was amazing. Likewise, I don't want steak and lobster if it means we're fighting all the time.
Relationships matter in the Kingdom of God. After all, all our relationships flow from our relationship with Christ. All we are and become is birthed from spending time with the Lord.
💚 Prayer: Dear God, I thank You that Your love is neverending and your grace is more than enough for me. You are so faithful, Father. Thank You for this reminder today that it's more important to be aligned with You than what food I eat. Lord, I know You desire me to eat right and take care of this body, but I also know You are more concerned that I love people like You would and treat them with dignity and respect. I am grateful for our relationship God, and pray that You would help me to see and love others as You would. In Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
