❤ Daily Verse: Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.
☆ Psalms 107:43 NLT
💛 Let's Talk About It: The book of Psalms is thought to be the most well-known book of the Bible. Actually, when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in Qumran, it was noted that they found over 30 copies of the Psalms.
It is no wonder why! Many of the Psalms speak about the goodness of God. They call to remembrance what He's done, and how He cares for His people.
Along with Psalms, the books of Judges, 1 & 2 Chronicles and 1 & 2 Kings also tell much history of how God blesses His people and calls them to repentance. It is in the study of this history that we are witness to the faithfulness of God.
For those who feel the Old Testament promises were only for the Jews, what do you make of Romans 11:17? It states, "But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree."
Clearly, we see that the promises afforded to Abraham are inherited by those who have faith in and call upon the name of Jesus.
It's so important we understand the history we have been grafted into. It is equally important to understand the promises God has for us so that we can hold fast to them during seasons of crushing, being in the desert, or walking through the wilderness.
Remember friend, God has great things in store for you! With over 3000 promises, you can rest assured God has your back. But don't just take my word for it, dig in and allow the Holy Spirit to bring you a fresh revelation of God's promises, today.
💚 Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for this month of Daily reminders of Your promises. I thank You for helping me to become more and more like Christ every day through obedience and intimacy with You, God. Father, You are so amazing and I stand in awe of Your magnificence and wonder. Holy Spirit, thank you for comforting me, reassuring me, convicting me, and providing me with wisdom to come to know You in a more real and profound way. I love You Jesus and I pray Your will be done, God. I give You all the glory and honor forever, and in Jesus name I pray, amen.
