💜 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Smile" by Sidewalk Prophets. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💙 Daily Verse: For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.
☆ Psalms 84:11-12 NLT
💛 Let's Talk About It: Grace and glory are not things we achieve or receive apart from Christ. The truth is, the Holy Spirit is working fantastically to ensure we continue walking with God and are being sanctified.
But rather than get caught up in a teaching on pnematology and soteriology, I want to focus on this one sentence, "The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right."
Go read that again...no, seriously....this truth needs to sink in!
"The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right."
What a beautiful promise!
So, what actions count as "do what is right"?
Well, the truth is, that's different for each of us depending on what season we are in, and our personal walk with Christ.
Paul explains how Christ opens our eyes to sin and asks that we not offend each other when we understand at a deeper level. If you have a chance, I highly encourage you to go to 1 Corinthians Ch. 8 and read what Paul has to say about the knowledge of sin and how our eyes are opened at different times to different sins.
One example is smoking. This is a habit God worked on very early in my walk. However, I have seen other believers smoke. Should I go point the finger? Nope! It's not my job to convict people of their sin. It is God's- more specifically, the Holy Spirit's. But I can pray for them and intercede on their behalf. It also doesn't give me license to go back smoking.
The whole point is that we're all at different points of the narrow path, so why should we be judging one another? We can't walk in love and judgement. So, while I wish I could tell you what right living is, it looks different for each person based on their walk with Jesus and their personal sin struggles.
Sure, we know not to murder or commit adultery, but what about gluttony, gossip, or other sins that have been normalized by the world around us? This is why we need Jesus!
Remember friend, the reward for our obedience doesn't change, hallelujah! God's Word says those that love doing what is right will have no good thing withheld! Praise God!
❤ Prayer: Father God, thank you for not withholding any good thing. Thank you for reminding me of your goodness this morning and for the breath in my lungs. Jesus, thank you for the blood. Holy Spirit, thank you for leading me. Lord, help me to live right and die daily. Lord, I want to be used by you today, so help me see who I can bless and love on. Lord, protect those I love and care for and help me to encourage others throughout my day today. Father, I thank you that I can trust you, that you are faithful and always keep your Word. I love you Jesus and in your mighty name I pray, amen.
