❤ Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Keep On Coming Through" by Jonathan Traylor. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💜 Daily Verse: By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
☆ 2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT
💙 Let's Talk About It: Yes friend, there are conditions to some promises, but in a world filled with terms and conditions, that should not be surprising. However, as Peter says, the promises aren't given to us so we can simply reap the benefits.
No, they are provided in order that we might do a good job at sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This begins in our actions long before we utter a word, which is why Peter also says that God's promises help us "escape the world’s corruption."
In order to shine the light of Jesus, we have to be fully surrendered. We cannot be double minded, nor can we be dabbling in the world. How confusing would it be for an unbeliever to meet a double minded Christian?! I surmise many already have and it has actually had the opposite effect on them-turning them away from the Lord.
It is important we write these promises on our hearts; nd that we absorb them into our spirit and memorize these scriptures so that we may use them when our identity, calling, or purpose come into question. Or, when we need to lift up a brother or sister who may be struggling in some form or another.
What promise of God's comes to your mind this morning? If you haven't seen it come to pass yet, friend, don't be discouraged. God is working, but He may also be waiting on you to move as well. Pray and seek Hid face. He is faithful!
💛 Prayer: Dear God, thank you for redemption and for each and every promise written in your Good Book. Thank you for rescuing me and allowing me to help you rescue others for your namesake. Thank you, God for your power, strength, and faithfulness. There is none like you. You are good and gracious and I am so thankful for each and every promise you give me. Thank you Jesus, for interceding for us and defending us. Thank you Holy Spirit for guiding me in all truth. May every verse this.month be written on my heart. I love you Jesus and in your mighty name I pray, amen.
