ð Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "I Know" by Big Daddy Weave. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
ð§¡Â Daily Verse: So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
â 1 Peter 5:6â-â¬7 NLT
ð Let's Talk About It: Humility is definitely something we are lacking in this world. In a day and age where our entire culture screams, "Look at ME! Love ME! Follow ME!" as Christians, we are supposed to be following Jesus. And in order to do that, we must be willing to do what we don't want in order to give God what He desires and humble ourselves - seeking His ways instead of our own.
In addition to this, we must confess all our anxiety and worries to the Lord so that He can release us from those burdens. It certainly doesn't help us to carry that baggage around.
How can we testify to God's greatness bogged down by the weight of our worries and cares? The truth is, we cannot be efficient and eager Christians filled with the burdens and worries of this world.
As the song says, God is more than what we leave behind. We don't have to fear the future. We don't have to fear our calling. We don't have to walk in shame. We don't have to carry our worries and burdens.
Jesus is waiting to take them. He is eager to fill the hole in the heart that is left behind with His joy, peace, gentleness patience, love, and/or faith; not because He has to but because He is good and He wants to release you from any and all bondage.
What worry are you carrying that you need to let go of?
â€Â Prayer: Dear God, I thank you for being a good God and Father. You love us and protect us with an abounding love that is indescribable. Thank you for freeing me from my worries, Jesus. Thank you for teaching me to release the hurt before it causes bitterness and hurts me. Thank you for taking my worries and replacing them with an exuberance to share your love with others. Please forgive me of my sins, Lord. Forgive me for not coming to you first on occasion. Thank you for your forgiveness, Lord. Please give me strength to ensure I do not continue making the same mistakes. I love you Jesus and in your name I pray, amen.
