💙 Let's Talk About It: You may or may not have noticed this particular verse has been spoken of in this monthly Love of God devotion before, however, I am quoting a different translation this time.

The Message paraphrase is unique and I just enjoy reading it as it puts it in our own language today with the nuances and emphasis needed to convey the passion breathed through Scripture. While it is not a literal translation, it is a good tool to have in your back pocket to help you capture the context.

Today's verses have an inclusion we don't see in many other translations. "I'm sticking with God...He's all I got left." While many other versions speak of an inheritance, the desperation of the writer is easily conveyed in the Message translation. However, it is important to remember all we receive IS an inheritance from God through His precious Son, Jesus Christ.

I'm pondering, have you ever reached that point? I must say, if you haven't, you're missing out! I've found that when God was all I was expecting, He is exactly what I received; a Word from Him, a miracle by His hands, an opportunity to serve in a new facet, a moment in time, a memory, a testimony.

I was once asked who God was to me and my immediate response was "everything", because that's what I'm trusting Him for...

every.single.thing.

Who is God to you?

💛 Prayer: Father God, I am grateful for your mercies that are new every morning. Your generous love is overwhelming. It is a passionate love that draws me close and fills every falling wound the hurts of this taken world leave behind. If not for you, God, I'd be dead. You've saved me more times than I know.  Thank you for your unfailing love, God. Help me to see and love others as you do. I don't just want to talk about it, I want to be about it! Lord, may your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
