🧡 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Elohim" by Hillsong Worship. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!

❤ Daily Verse: Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
☆ Deuteronomy 7:9 NLT

💛 Let's Talk About It: Who does God promise to lavish His love upon for a thousand generations? Is it everyone? Clearly not...

No, this verse says that kind of treatment is reserved for those who love and obey Him. While this verse is from the Old Testament and refers to the obligation to follow the Mosaic Covenant, what if the reference here isn't the Mosaic Covenant (Covenant made with Moses) but the Abrahamic covenant (Covenant made to Abraham). After all, Moses wasn't promised to be the Father of nations, but Abraham was.

When we look at Abraham's life, we can see he clearly made some mistakes - lying about his marriage with Sarah (twice) & sleeping with another woman and having a child with her rather than waiting on God's promise.

But God still counted Him righteous! How can that be? Because when we look at the entire scheme of his life, we can see he was devoted to doing the will of God. Did he fall just as we do? You bet, but God knew His heart. He could see that He was still believing for the covenant promise to be fulfilled.

He was counted righteous because though he wavered and took his eyes off the promises of God from time to time, he still believed. Little did he know it would be centuries later that the fulfillment of this was begun and millenia until fulfilled in completion (as we are still waiting).

So, that comes to us...are you living in a way that shows God you trust Him and His Word? Do you believe Christ saved you? Are you fulfilling His commands to love God, love others, and share the Gospel baptizing and discipling others? What are you waiting for...if you accepted Christ you've already received the invitation. It's time to RSVP!💜

💙 Prayer: Oh God, how great is your love for us. We are living in the greatest time within Creation. We are saved by grace and have the Holy Spirit with us each and every day to guide us. Is there a greater gift than you dwelling in us, Lord? I don't believe so! Jesus, there is none like you. Thank you for choosing to live and die as a man so that I may be saved. There is no end to your love and I am so grateful to be called your child. Thank you Jesus! My heart sings your name forevermore! May your will be done God, on earth and it is in Heaven. I love you God and in Jesus name I pray, amen.
