Daily Devotional - Meditate on God's Word
๐ Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Endless Alleluia" by Corey Asbury. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
๐ Daily Verse: But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.
โ Psalms 1:2 NLT
๐งก Let's Talk About It: "They"...am I they? Are you they? Who exactly is "they"?
Reading through this short, yet profound Psalm, we see that "they" are described as "those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, those who stand with sinners, or those who mock (v. 1). Verse 3 describes "they" as those who are like a tree planted by a flowing river and explains that those trees bear fruit every year; and says that "they" always prosper.
I don't know about you, but I'm wanting more and more to know who "they" are and how I can be like "they" are! Verse 6 explains that "they" are the godly. And our daily verse (2) explains that it is meditating on the Word that makes us like "they" are.
Before you get your pants wrinkled from squirming in your seat, I'm not here to tell you how to change your outward appearance. I'm not even here to call out your sin. I know the Holy Spirit is already shining a light on that, if need be. I'm here to tell you the way out of the darkness...the way to that river...the way to be planted...
IT'S JESUS!
He's the answer. He's ALWAYS the answer! Walking in fellowship with Christ and reading the Word of God is how we come to know Jesus.
THAT is how we become like "they" are!

โค Prayer: Dear Father, I am so grateful for this day. I have another opportunity to learn more about you, and bless those you allow me to. Help me to be a blessing to someone today. Use me Lord, as a vessel of love. I want to be planted by you, learning from you Jesus. Father, I still have so much to understand. You know this. Please forgive me for my sins. Forgive me for [insert sin here]. I am so grateful for your blood Jesus, thank you for washing me white as snow. Thank you Lord, for your gift of grace. I could never do enough to earn my salvation and I am so grateful I don't have to. You did it all on the Cross, Christ Jesus. Thank you that I walk in freedom today because of your gift Lord. TODAY, and everyday, I choose to walk in your footsteps. Teach me to walk in your ways, to see people as you see people, and love others as you love others. Father, may Your will be done. I love you Jesus, and in your name I pray, amen.
