Daily Devotional ~ My World Needs You

Psalm 71:20 - Daily Devotional ~ My World Needs You

Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "My World Needs You" by Kirk Franklin ft. Sarah Reeves & Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

Daily Verse: You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
☆Psalms 71:20 NLT

Let's Talk About It: God's testing is not allowed in order that He might see if we pass or fail. It's allowed by God so that the Holy spirit has an opportunity to teach us our weaknesses in order that we turn to Christ and learn how to overcome.

The testing is not meant to discourage us, but rather, is meant to empower us. Remember it is only in our weakness that Christ's true and perfect strength can be revealed. Apart from Him we are dead in sin. The testing brings our attention back to where it belongs, on Christ Jesus.

See friend, we don't just deal with the sin nature at a flesh level, but at a cosmic level as well. We live in a fallen world. Sometimes the choices just aren't as clear cut as black and white. Sometimes the choice is between bad and worse. Take Rahab for example. She lied about the Hebrew men she was hiding, but was still counted righteous.

God understands our nature, better than we do. This is exactly why He sent His one and only Son to die. This is also why God is sovereign.

Listen friend, I know each of us is facing our own testing right now. And I know it's in these times that we wonder if we are still on the right path. The answer, if you are continually following Jesus, is a resounding yes.

So, just keep following Jesus. He knows the home.💜

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for this beautiful day. I thank you that before the sun ever rose, you had a plan for me today. Thank you, gracious Lord, for the blessings you have given me. Thank you for another day of your grace, mercy, and favor, especially during these times of testing and trials. I pray that during these times, you would reveal to me the solution for it is written that every test and trial that is given, you always provide a way out. I humbly ask that you make clear my path, and to give me strength, courage, and wisdom to share your Gospel with the lost so that they may also share in the joy and love of your grace. Lord, I ask that you soften the heart of unbelievers as well as those not living in relationship with you all over the globe so that I may fulfill your commandments as well as that of my Lord and Savior by walking that narrow path of righteousness. May all that I do give you glory, Lord. We love you Jesus, and in your name we pray, amen.
