Daily Devotional ~ Keep God First
Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Just Want You" by Sarah Reeves.
Daily Verse: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
☆Matthew 6:33-34 NLT
Let's Talk About It: It's imperative to have our priorities in the right order. This is because any deviation, and all our efforts may be for not.
Can you imagine spending decades building a business only to have a global economic crisis strike and undo all your life's work?
That may be happening now more than ever. However, there is a God who still has a perfect plan. The Bible continually reminds us that a relationship with Jesus is what we are striving for. Ecclesiastes is a book devoted to proving the worthlessness of a life without God.
There simply is no substitute.
While we are all facing difficulties during this season, we can rest assured that if we are living for God, all things will work out for good.
Don't give up hope, and keep God first, especially during this time. I believe there are still great blessings flowing from The Father to His children, even now, in the midst of uncertainty.
Additional Verse: And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. ☆Romans 8:26-28 NLT
Prayer: Dear God, I love you. Thank you for waking me up to a new day. I know Lord, that nothing looks the same anymore. Many have lost their jobs. Children aren't able to go to school. We struggle to find toilet paper. We struggle to find food. We struggle to understand the purpose in what you are doing, Lord, but we keep trusting you. We keep serving you Lord because we know a life without you, and a life without Your will, is a meaningless life. Jesus, thank you for saving me and sealing me with the Holy Spirit. I pray that today your fruit of joy, peace, and patience (long-suffering) would come and rest on every believer Lord. Help us all to keep our eyes focused on you this season. Help us, Lord, lean on you and learn to trust you with everything this season. Thank you Jesus for interceding for us. Thank you loving us like only you can. I love you Jesus, and in your name I pray, amen.
