❤ Daily Verse: God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
☆ James 1:12 NLT
🧡 Let's Talk About It: This verse is one I cling to in the midst of seasons that don't make sense, when I'm in the wilderness.
As we preservere, dear friends, we will receive a crown of life. There is such hope here, it gives me something to hold fast to in the midst of the crushing.
It also testifies to the last step in salvation, glorification. Glorification is multidimensional and involves the perfecting of our spirits at death, and fullness of power.
It also involves the perfecting of our bodies at Resurrection. When I say perfecting, I mean we will be morally perfected, and without corruption. We will be powerful, immune to disease and decay, and absolutely glorious. Hence, why it's referred to as glorifocation.
This verse embodies this to me. It reminds us of why we endure heartache, sickness, persecution, setbacks, etc. It isn't for ourselves, but for the glory of God. And it just so happens our willingness to suffer for His namesake earns us eternal rewards.
I don't know who needs to hear this today, but God is not done with you. Sure, what you are walking through feels overwhelming and uncomfortable, but remember, God is with you. Jesus fights for you, and the Holy Spirit is walking with you, leading you every step of the way.
You can do this, not in your power, but His. One day, you will stand in front of the King of kings and he will say, well done, my good and faithful servant.
Don't give in. Don't give up. Pursue purity. Pursue holiness. For your rewards will be there waiting for you in heaven.
💚 Prayer: Father, I thank You for the Holy Spirit that guides me and directs my steps. Lord, I thank You for your plan of salvation, and that You saw fit to include me. Lord, You know I don't deserve saving, not on my own merit, so I thank You for your mercy and faithfulness. Lord, if I'm being honest, this season has been so difficult for me, but You have carried me through Jesus, so I want to say thank You. No matter what I face, Lord, I know You are with me, for Your words says You will never leave me nor forsake me. I love You Jesus and thank You for the seasons of trials and testing, for that is when I grow in knowledge of You and Your power. May Your will be done God, in Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
