Daily Devotional - April 26, 2021

💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Child Of Love" by We The Kingdom. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!

Daily Verse: Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
☆ 1 Thessalonians 5:23‭-‬24 NLT

💜 Let's Talk About It: Today, we're going to talk about how the Holy Spirit sanctifies us. As we can see from today's verse, we aren't responsible for sanctifying ourselves, but God is who sanctifies us, through His Holy Spirit.

I don't know about you, but this is music to my ears because if me being sanctified was up to me, I'd be in a world of hurt, that's for sure. My human nature doesn't know the first thing about being Christ-like.

Thank goodness, sanctification is an on-going process. As we walk with Jesus, we put to death the life of the flesh and grow in holiness. It is progressive and the ultimate goal is to be conformed to the image of Christ (Eph. 1:4).

While the Holy Spirit works, however, we are not passive in the process. Paul explains how we have a choice to do God's will or not, and that by doing so, we show the result of our salvation (Phil. 2:12-13).

💙 Prayer:  Dear God, thank You for taking over the process of sanctification. While I work to do Your will, You are conforming me into the image of Your Son and for that I am so grateful. If it were up to me, Lord, you know I'd be in trouble, but Your Word says all things are possible for those who believe and I believe You, God. Lord, help me discern Your will with more clarity so that there is little to no hesitation on my part. I want to walk in Your timing God, so I thank You in advance for Your Holy Spirit that is guiding me and directing my path. Lord, I thank you for dreams and visions to help me understand Your will and I thank you that I hear your voice with more fervor. May Your will be done God, on earth as it is in Heaven. I love You Jesus and in Your mighty name I pray, amen.
