💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "O Come to the Altar" by Elevation Worship. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💚Daily Verse: For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.
☆ John 6:44 NLT
💜Let's Talk About It: Did you catch that? Jesus said, "Unless the Father who sent me draws them to me" no one can be saved. This is essentially the definition of a theological term coined "effectual call."
It is an inner call where God powerfully influences the mind, will, heart, and personality of an individual. It is believed to happen to those who receive the Gospel message savingly as the Holy Spirit effectually applies it in the heart of the person.
Grace takes effect during this time and the individual is considered having responded according to his or her own free will. The effectual call is heavenly in origin (Heb. 3:1), and it walks hand in hand with regeneration (Titus 3:4-5). Finally, it is irrevocable (Titus 3:5-7).
If this has you confused, don't worry, it took a few days of chewing before I could digest it all. I just want to encourage you though, if you are intrigued, keep digging through the Word and pray for wisdom. As James says, God is more than willing to give to those who ask (James 1:5).
💙Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for Your precious Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me and thank You for calling me. I thank You that my calling is irrevocable, but even more so, I am thankful nothing can separate me from Your love, Lord. Thank You God, for teaching me Your ways. They are so much higher than mine. Help me to love like You love, Jesus, and be the best woman of God I can be. I love You Jesus and in Your name I pray, amen.
