💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "God of Revival" by Dan Musselman. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💙 Daily Verse: So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for the benefit of believers, not unbelievers.
☆ 1 Corinthians 14:22 NLT
❤ Let's Talk About It: Did you know that some gifts were for the benefit of believers while others are for the benefit of the unbelievers?
If you're like me, you may have never realized this; and it makes sense. Why would someone who doesn't believe in God need to know His will? They wouldn't, which is why prophecy isn't for unbelievers, but for believers. And why would anyone who knows God need to hear people speaking in previously unknown languages? They don't, but those who have never seen the Spirit move would surely be impressed by large groups of people speaking in languages they've never formally learned.
In using the gifts we've been given, again, we must realize it is for the edification of the church, not the individual. So what does that even mean anyway? It means the building up of one's soul and comes from the Latin word "aedificationem."
Our gifts are supposed to be used to build up each other, not for selfish gains. So, the next time someone comes to you telling you they've received a word from the Lord and for the price of (fill in the blank) they will let you know what He said, run for the hills.
Not only will God not charge to speak with people, but He won't charge people for fellowship either. Be weary of any folks who do, for their efforts to advance the Kingdom may be more about lining their own pockets than edifying the body of Christ. And I don't know about you, but I'm not trying to get dragged down by the sin of others either.
💜 Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for the gifts of discernment and wisdom. I pray that You would help me to make better use of these gifts in order to protect my anointing and the anointing of those I love. Lord, I thank You that You are all-knowing and that when I put my trust in You, it is placed on a form foundation of truth. Lord God, there is none like You and I am in awe of Your magnificence and wonder. Lord, help me to be the best woman of God I can be, and may You receive all the glory for it in Jesus name. I love you Jesus and in Your name I pray, amen.
