💙 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Holy Spirit" by Francesca Battistelli. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
💜 Daily Verse: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
☆ John 14:26 KJV
❤ Let's Talk About It: Pneumatology comes from the Greek word “pneuma”, meaning wind, breath, or spirit and the Greek word “logos” meaning word, matter or thing. It is a theological term used to refer to the study of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.
Before we jump into the Holy Spirit this month, however, I know there are some denominations that do not necessarily believe in the Holy Spirit. For those folks, I want to encourage you to keep an open mind and let the scripture do the teaching. You may be encouraged by what God reveals to you.
To ensure we cover the basics, I just want to review the Godhead in simplistic terms.
First, we have the Father. We can see His plan for redemption throughout the Old Testament.
Second, we have the Son. We read throughout the New Testament how Jesus accomplishes redemption for mankind.
Finally, we have the Holy Spirit. It is He who applies the redemption of Christ to the life of the believer.
Before I get too enthralled in all that the Holy Spirit does, I want to know, what are your initial thoughts on the Holy Spirit? Do the gifts of the Spirit exist today? How has the Holy Spirit revealed Himself to you?
💛 Prayer: Father God, I am so very thankful for Your precious Holy Spirit. Without Him, I would be lost for sure. Thank You for such an amazing plan of redemption, and for sending Your Son that we might have the ability to be saved. Thank You for loving me unconditionally. Help me to love others in this manner as well. My God, thank You for Your mercy, and for each day that is a gift. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I love You Jesus and in Your mighty name I pray, amen.
