Daily Devotional ~ Fruit of the Spirit ~ Gentleness

Raspberry - Daily Devotional ~ Fruit of the Spirit ~ Gentleness

💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Selah III (Fruits of the Spirit)" by Hillsong Young & Free. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!

Daily Verse: But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, GENTLENESS, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
☆ Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NLT

💙 Let's Talk About It: Our world is abrasive. Gentleness sure isn't a quality anyone is bringing up in job interviews when asked what they feel their strengths are. Many in society look upon the gentle as weak or inferior, however this is definitely not the case when it come to the Lord. No, He understands the importance of gentleness, and those who follow Him are expected to as well.

It is important to remember that scripture tell us the meek shall inherit the earth (Matt. 5:5). Christ Himself actually spoke those words, which testifies to their significance.

If Christ taught on humility, why do we think we can walk on the path of righteousness without it? Boasting about oneself, our church, our ministry efforts, our children, our jobs, our gifts, our talents is meaningless when we are meant to be boasting of Christ Jesus.

Remember today, friend, that only that which we do for Jesus is eternal. Walk in humility and gentleness, and watch love manifest in its purest form. Like James says, the wisdom from God is gentle and willing to yield to others. May we walk in that wisdom today and everyday as we attempt to serve our Lord Jesus and allow the fruit of the Spirit to grow plentiful.

💜 Additional Reading: Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
☆ Ephesians 4:2 NLT

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. ☆ James 3:17 NLT
