💛 Let's Talk About It: The Greek word for self control is "egkráteia". It means, "proceeding out from within oneself, but not by oneself."

See friend, the only way we achieve self-control is by giving God control...of everything. It is only by the Spirit that we are able to obtain this gift. Other than trusting God, and walking in obedience, there is no other way to obtain this.

As the definition states, it cannot be achieved by oneself. It makes sense then, the state of the world. So many lack self co trolls because they are not walking with the Lord. Many believe IN Him, but for some reason, they don't believe Him enough to actually live by what He spoke.

We will never produce fruit if we are unwilling to be molded, and we cannot be molded if we aren't willing to try a different way. Not OUR way, but GOD'S way.

Breathe new life into me Lord so that I may glorify You more than ever before. Help me to shine your light and walk in love and grace. Lord, I give you control over every aspect of my life. God, you alone are able to provide for all my needs and I thank you that in relinquishing my control to you, I am able to gain a greater self control through Your Holy Spirit.
