Daily Devotional ~ Fruit of the Spirit ~ Patience
💛 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "I'm Gonna Let It Go" by Jason Gray. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
❤ Daily Verse: But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
☆ Galatians 5:22-23 NLT
💙 Let's Talk About It: Whew, this is a hard one for me. I tend to become impatient when things don't happen according to my plan or schedule. I can become stressed and that leads to other areas in which I begin to fall. Is any of this resonating with you as well?
As much as I am glad I am not alone, I am saddened that you too may understand this struggle.
Some versions use the word "longsuffering" rather than patience. That puts it into perspective, doesn't it?
There's some things we have to work through in which we know that our answer will only come from the Lord Himself when we meet Him face to face.
In the meantime, we have to let go of our control and let Jesus do His thing. We must also wait patiently for the Lord, and do so expectantly.
💜 Additional Reading: Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.
☆ Ecclesiastes 7:8 NLT
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
☆ Romans 15:5 NLT
We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.
☆ 2 Corinthians 6:6 NLT
🧡 Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for this day. Thank you for keeping me and my family safe, secure, and for blessing us so abundantly. Lord, you are so good to me, thank you for always being patient with me. Help me to be as patient with others as you are with me. Thank you, Lord, for helping to correct impatience. May your will be done for my life. I love you Jesus and in your name I pray, amen.
