Daily Devotional ~ The House of the Lord

Person - Daily Devotional ~ The House of the Lord

💙 Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!

💛 Daily Verse: Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
☆ Psalms 23:6 NLT

Let's Talk About It: Before the New Covenant, David understood the love of God. Not only that, but he understood that eternal life is His because of his relationship with God.

David understood that it wasn't because of who he was, or what he did when it came to the world, but because of who he knew and the fact that he kept walking WITH God, even when he was guilty of disobedience.

Can I gently remind you, dear friend, God sees you. He knows you. He even knows when you're going to sin before you do. This is how Jesus was able to tell Peter he would deny Him. And how He told the disciples someone would betray Him.

Yet, with all that being said, He still loves us and wants desperately to save us. Save us from what, you ask? Ourselves & the snare of sin.

See, before we know Jesus, we're all sitting in a jail cell (spiritually). The door has been opened our entire life (due to what Jesus did on the cross 2,000 years ago).

However, it's not until we surrender to Christ that we take or first step following Him out of that cell. And it's only out of the snare of bondage that we begin to learn who we are in Christ & what we are purposed to accomplish in this life.

Life is hard. Jesus knows that. And He reminds us that His yoke is easy and burden is light. Hang on, friend, and hold fast to this promise of God, "I will live in the house of the Lord forever."

🧡 Additional Reading: Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. ☆ 2 Timothy 4:18 NLT

💜 Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for today. Thank you for helping me lean into you when things are difficult or not easy to deal with. Lord, there are none like you and I am grateful to be your friend. Jesus, thank you for reminding me of your love and your promises. As I face today, I know you are by my side, and no matter what I face, I trust that you go before me and are my shield, my protector & my fortress. Father, please touch every life on this planet today and soften our hearts. Help me to walk in obedience. Thank you for helping me be your hands and feet. I thank you for your unending love, mercy, and grace. I love you Jesus, and in your name I pray, amen.
