Let's Talk About It: In our third part of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we are taking a deeper look at peace. The peace of God is more than just contentment. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding, and best of all, it's promised to each of us through the fruit of the Spirit. This is indicative of there being some work on our part. Surely we can't live like we want. However you'd be surprised what's expected of us if we wish to have peace.
Paul tells us that if we want peace, we mustn't worry about anything but rather pray about everything (Phil. 4:6-7). He also tells us that Jesus is the Lord of peace (1 Thess. 3:16).
Isaiah tells us that in order to have peace, we must trust God (Isa. 26:3).
Jesus calls peace a gift (John 14:27). He also says God blesses those who work for peace (Matt. 5:9).
Jehovah Shalom is the God of peace and if you trust in His son, there is absolutely nothing you need to worry about.
Trust me, it is definitely easier said than done. I struggle here myself, but I trust God and I trust His word. I know that peace is for me. I may have to work to have it at times more so than others, but God is faithful!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your Word. Lord, in a world that seems to be coming undone, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet. You keep me centered and Your Word keeps me sane. Thank you for this day, and for blessing my family and I. Father, you know I struggle with worry. Help me to trust you with ALL things and pray about ALL things. Help me to remember that You are all I need. Lord, there is no one like you. Thank you for seeing past my faults and loving me anyway. Thank you for believing in me, even when I don't believe in myself. And thank you for the gift of salvation. You know i don't deserve it, but thank you for saving me anyway. Thank you for your peace, Abba. I love you Jesus, and in your name I pray, amen.
