Daily Devotional ~ Who Am I?
❤ Worship: If you'd like to play a song before you begin or while you read, may we recommend "Dancing on the Waves" by We The Kingdom. Why not try asking alexa, siri, or google to play it for you?!
🧡 Daily Verse: You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
☆ Psalms 139:13-18 NLT
💜 Let's Talk About It: How do you view yourself? The Bible says we are a new creation once we are saved by Christ. However, it has taken me time to begin to walk in this, and I have a feeling it is a struggle for more people than just me.
Maybe you didn't need to be set free from drugs. Maybe your worth has never been in question. Maybe you grew up in a functional household. Maybe you've known Jesus forever, but for some of us...any one of these may not be the case.
For some of us, we've grown up in a dark world without Jesus and we need to understand first and foremost that even though we didn't choose Him, He chose us and has been with us since before we even existed...watching the handiwork of His words of creation form us in our mother's womb.
We need to understand that since we are His, nothing can separate us from His love-NOTHING (Rom 8:38-39). We need to understand how God sees us because THAT'S who we are. The person we believe ourselves to be before Christ died the moment He stepped into our lives. That person doesn't exist anymore. That can be daunting or exhilarating depending on circumstances. However, either way you think of it, you have to realize that God sees us differently, and He knows us better than we know ourselves.
Stop beating yourself up today, sweet friend. You are not perfect, but Jesus is, and He wants to step in the middle of your situation and do what you can't. Call out to Him and begin to walk in grace, not only for others, but for yourself as well.

💙 Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for this day. Thank you for helping me to renew my mind and heart as I continue following you, Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus for loving me like no other and for searching my heart and helping me to rid myself of all that I was before I surrendered to you. Thank you for helping me realize that I need to love me and be graceful towards myself as well. I know this does not give me a license to sin and I ask that you help me realize my greatest potential in you Lord and who you created me to be so I can walk in that. Help me to be your hands and feet and give me the opportunity to bless others around me today. I love you Jesus and in your name I pray, amen.
