Review of RescYOUed: A 30-Day Study of God Our Rescuer

I was blessed enough to receive an advanced copy of the RescYOUed Bible Study with Sarah Koontz and Living By Design ministries. I was so moved and changed by the words on those pages, that I just have to share this free Bible study opportunity with all of you, my tribe.

If I had to pick one line that stood out in this study the most, it would have to be, “God’s strength and ability to lead us to victory does not depend on numbers.” See, when I decided to sign up for the launch team for Living By Design Ministries, I didn’t really know what I was getting into. My friend Jen, tagged me in an IG post and let me know that Living By Design was looking for Creative Partners for their upcoming Bible Study. I thought, that sure would be fun and went ahead to their page and signed up, or so I thought…

I had actually signed up for the launch team, a group of like-minded, kingdom driven, men and women who volunteer their time and platforms to help get the word out on free Bible studies. Once I figured this out, I went and signed up to be a creative partner and thought how silly I was for making such an error. However, an error it was not, but rather divine appointment.

See, it was just a week earlier that I was asking God, again, if I was really who was supposed to be doing this. I didn’t feel like it. I felt like I had failed, like everything He told me to share was for nothing. I felt like I was not seeing any fruit from my labor. Then, the launch team started and I was surrounded by Sarah and other women who supported and encouraged each other.

I began reading RescYOUed: A 30-Day Study of God Our Rescuer and quickly realized that I wasn’t meant to be a Creative Partner, but rather, was exactly where God wanted me. He was speaking to me through those pages and was giving me profound insight into what I was both called for and who I was in Christ. Then, I remember being welcomed in and watching Sarah’s first video thinking, Ok, this is a safe place. I’m just going to put myself out there and see what happens.

See, Sarah reminded me that this social media thing IS kingdom business, if that’s what I want to use my platform form. She reminded me that what I was sharing DID matter, but most of all she solidified what God spoke to me, that it wasn’t about numbers, but about the one; the one that he would never leave behind--that broken addict living on a street corner, or the single mom struggling to provide, or even the hardened hearts of prisoners. Jesus would go to any length necessary to tell them they were loved and that they mattered. Many times, he stopped to help those in need with compassion in his heart. This study helped me to see that this is just how God seeks us as well and how we can use our platforms to bring that same hope and compassion to others.

I was able to learn more about God, who He is, His names, and His beautiful gift of mercy and grace, through this study and the Holy Spirit ministered to my heart in ways that are difficult for me to put into word. How do you explain that pieces of your heart have been put back together or that emptiness you felt is not longer empty, but Christ filled it with his love? It is not an easy task, however I hope that as you read this, you can sense in your spirit the eagerness I have in helping all of you come to find the same through this free online Bible study.

Study Format

Throughout the study, you will receive daily e-mails including a brief Scripture reading and devotional along with shareable quote graphics. We are excited to announce that we have included an audio version of the daily devotionals in each RescYOUed e-mail—making it easier than ever to learn on the go! We encourage you to set aside a minimum of 10-15 minutes per day to complete the study but don’t be surprised if you are tempted to linger a while longer over these powerful stories.
