Book Review ~ As My Mind Unwinds By Jennifer Ervig

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of this book and I truly believe it was God reaching down to remind me of my calling as well as let me know He was listening and heard me. See, when Jen contacted me, I had just finished a prayer to God seconds earlier, "Lord, if this is really what you want us doing, if this is really where my extra energy needs to be focused for your Glory, please, let me know. I know pride can blindside us sometimes and if this is coming from a prideful place, I don't want to do it. This HAS to be about you. I don't want this about me and I don't want my flesh creeping into the picture at any point. If I somehow mistook your voice for my own, please, just give the word and I will shut the site down."

Seconds later, I was contacted by Jen who asked if I would be interested in creating some pieces inspired by her devotional book. It was a sign! But God, He always gives us more than we ask and He did in this instance as well. But before I go any further, let me provide some information on this great read!

Person - Book Review ~ As My Mind Unwinds By Jennifer Ervig

As My Mind Unwinds is written by Jennifer Ervig, a Connections Pastor at The Grove Church in Marysville, WA. It is for anyone who really wants to grow in their faith and in God (both men and women alike). She funny, down-to-earth, knowledgeable and an amazing woman of God. If you're like me and enjoying following people on Instagram, you can follow her here.

First and foremost, I must say that I absolutely loved this book! It's light-hearted, yet, thought provoking, and really helps the reader grow spiritually, at least it did for me. Jennifer Ervig has a unique way of using humor and sound biblical teaching to help us really take an introspective look into our walk/relationship with God.

From TMI moments to getting us to answer the question, "What miracle has God done for you lately?" Jen has such an amazing sense of leading us, the reader, to take a face value look at our walk, and its hard not to take note of where we, as Christians, can enhance our journey with God throughout this process.

I consider this book a blessing in so many ways, from how she helped me determine my gifts (Add Your Flavor; Shine Your Light) to the moment I felt God's divine timing as I read the chapter on parenting (How to Practically Parent in an Ever Increasingly Broken World), this is truly a devotion for anyone.

It is my prayer that this review will help you take that leap of faith and get yourself a copy! The Holy Spirit is truly able to minister beautifully throughout each page.

As stated earlier, God used this wonderful woman to help me stay on the lighted path in front of me (Thy Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet and Light Unto My Path ~ Psalm 119:105). I am not getting any payment, gifts, gratuities or any other expense of any kind for writing this review, I am simply sharing something that has been life changing for me, and that I believe will be life changing for you as well.

Not only did God answer my prayer that day, but I truly believe, I strengthened my walk with Him because of this opportunity as well. It's just like God to give us more than what we ask, isn't it?
